Details from Jonathan: This was our attempt to make use of 10 of the 13, yes 13 roosters, in our flock of 19 chicks we raised this year. This will save feed for us and the dark meat was decent – the rest was too tough as roosters can tend to be even at 12 weeks old. We are going to try to see if we can get more weight on these next time and cull at 8-10 weeks. These were only 3 lbs dress weight vs the usual 6 lbs you’d get in the store. Good experience for sure!
